Well this post is LONG overdue. I've had this written for a while and just didn't get round to publishing it. I feel so bad :( but I do have it ready for you now!
The lovely Joy from Thoughts by J and I have finished Fangirl! Make sure you check out Joy's blog to see what questions I asked her for the final discussion. My final rating for this book is 3 stars. I have to say I didn't quite enjoy Fangirl as much as I thought I would have.
Do you think Cath has grown as a character in these next 10 chapters?
I think Cath has grown and matured. Probably not as much as I would have hoped since I’m still finding it hard to really connect with her but I have seen some differences which give me hope!
What do you think of Levi after what happened at the party?
Hmm this is a hard one because I really like Levi’s character but I wasn’t a fan of what he did at the party. However I still love him, and thought he was a great character and one of the main reasons why I liked Fangirl.
What did you think of Cath being given a second chance at her fiction-writing class?
I thought it was very lucky that Cath got another chance! However I don’t really feel like she deserved it. And now after finishing Fangirl, I keep getting stuck on the fact that Cath kept putting off writing anything for her class. So many people would be ecstatic at a second chance at one of their assessments and yet here Cath is, not even sure if she would submit anything. This is one of the reasons why I didn’t connect with Cath and Fangirl as much.
I think Fangirl is a book that has its moments of greatness but I didn't find myself loving it. I think Cath as a main character just irritated me too much to thoroughly connect to her and the book. I did like this book but I can't see me ever reading Fangirl again.
Oh and just as a side question-I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy the fanfic parts right? I seriously skipped some of them or just skim read them...
