Goodreads Synopsis:
The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again

Review

Beautiful Oblivion is a mix of amazing writing, sexy situations and a sensational story.

I am definitely a huge Jamie McGuire fan, Beautiful Disaster is a book that I can read over and over again and still never tire of it. So of course I requested Beautiful Oblivion as soon as I heard of it! And I am so glad I did. Jamie McGuire has a way of writing a story that you just don’t want to put down.  And I didn’t put it down since it arrived-and finished it that very same day.

I have to say I do adore this Beautiful Oblivion cover. I just love the peacock feathers matched with the pretty grey/blue colouring of the background. Even if I didn’t know who Jamie McGuire was I would definitely pick up this book (based on the cover) to find out more.

Camille Camlin has had a hard family life, however she is still a hilarious, kind hearted, and BEAUTIFUL character. Cami does not use her past troubles as an excuse for anything. She herself is her own person.  Her confidence is amazing and she knew all about those Maddox boys and therefore thought she would never fall for one of her own. However she didn’t count on a certain Trenton Maddox who has got his eyes set on Cami.

Trent Maddox is currently helping out his father whilst living with him and working at a tattoo parlor (Skin Deep) to pay the bills. I found Trent to be a really complex character and, dare I say it, I think I loved him more than Travis! I know it was a shock for me too but Trent definitely won me over. He is so sweet and kind, especially around those he cares about. I would be very happy with my own Trent.

Our two main characters start off with a friendship that I truly envied. I love that Cami and Trent both brought out the best in each other. Trent helped Cami live a little more and helped when she had troubles with her brothers and father. And then Cami was slowly helping Trent with his inner demons. That friendship eventually turned into something more, something slow and intensely beautiful.

I have to say the side characters really made this story. I especially loved seeing Travis at the club where Cami works (Red Door). These were really like behind the scenes looks at Beautiful Disaster! And Olive is so adorable and sweet! The only tiny problem I had with Olive is that there was a certain instance where she was made out to sound older then she actually was. I understand that some children may be quite advanced but it was only one time throughout the whole book so it felt like it was just thrown in there. Also, this is the main reason why this wasn’t a 5 star read, I didn’t like Cami’s best friend. I won’t spoil anything so I’ll just leave it at that. I did adore Hazel though; she is a wonderful friend to both Trent and Cami!

You will not regret picking this up once it’s released. 4.5 stars!

Blog Tour: Rules of Survival by Jus Accardo Review

Hi Everyone!

Today I am lucky enough to be taking part in the blog tour for Jus Accardo's recently released Rules of Survival!
My stop is a review of this amazing book!

Book Title: Rules of Survival

Author: Jus Accardo

Publisher: Entangled Embrace

Tagline: If you want to survive, you have to follow the rules

Synopsis: Mikayla Morgan is wanted for her mother's murder. She's been on the run for almost a year now, avoiding not only the police but the real killer. Tired of running and desperate to clear her name, she breaks one of the most sacred rules: never return to the scene of the crime.
Every bounty hunter on the Eastern Seaboard is after the Morgan girl—but Shaun Denver and his partner snagged her. She's a piece of work, and Shaun can't decide if he wants to kiss her or kill her. When things take a sharp turn south, Shaun does the only thing he can think of to keep her close—he handcuffs them together.
As the danger mounts and the killer closes in, the chemistry between them threatens to explode. Shaun and Kayla will need to break all the rules if they hope to get out of this alive.

Review
I cannot get over the fact that I have loved every single Jus Accardo book that I have read so far. Rules of Survival has really cemented the fact that Jus Accardo is a phenomenal writer.

I have to say though; this is not my favourite cover. Don’t get me wrong I do like it, the guy is hot and it does highlight the mysterious tone of the novel but it just seemed a bit bland. However I would still pick up this book based on the cover because it does intrigue me.

Rules of Survival is a an amazing tale full of mystery, laughs and of course that sexy romance that made me swoon on more than one occasion. The story started of with a bang-literally. Within the opening pages our main character Mikayla Morgan opens the door to her world. Currently on the run as she is a suspect of her mother’s murder, Mikayla attempts to find clues to solve the murder and clear her name to hopefully have a chance at a normal life.

Mikayla is a big factor to why I enjoyed the novel so much. For a girl who is running for the law and trying to keep herself alive, she kept her sense of humour every step of the way. With a plan for everything, I found Mikayla to be one of Jus Accardo’s strongest heroines. For an 18 year old, Mikayla has had to deal with her fair share of loss, heartache and fear. However this does deter her from trying to find the truth. But I guess it helps when you have a sexy, hilarious hunk of a man shackled to you.

Shaun Denver is our leading male and wow does he leave his mark in this book. Full of sharp wit, humour and a protective streak, Shaun’s presence made a wonderful addition to this novel. After trying to aid his pseudo-father in a bounty hunting expedition Shaun shackles himself to Mikayla to stop her from getting away and to also help her.

The interaction between these two characters had me laughing out loud one second then reaching for a fan the next. Damn, Jus Accardo can write sexy really well! The words during specific scenes were scorching hot and were sizzling off the page.

The mystery in the book was never dull. I enjoyed the fact that this book started off at a fast pace and did not let up all the way through. I was just as restless to find out who was behind the murder as the characters.

All together, Jus Accardo has written a book that had me anxiously turning each page to find out more. I can’t wait to read more books by this author and I’m sure that there will be a re-read of Rules of Survival in the very near future.

Review

4 Amazing Stars!!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster Australia for the review copy I received for my honest review.

Abbi Glines is an author that I would read absolutely anything by. Whenever I need a pick me up or just want to read something that I know will make me smile I go to my Abbi Glines shelf and I have my pick of amazing books. I absolutely adored While It Lasts, the first Cage and Eva book and now I’m kicking myself for not picking up Sometimes It Lasts sooner!

While It Lasts was a fantastic emotional rollercoaster so I was originally slightly worried that Sometimes It Lasts wouldn’t live up to the high standards I had for Cage and Eva. It seems like I was worried for no reason! I am happy to note that I was not disappointed with the overall book. I have to say though I do prefer the American covers. I just like having the sexy people on my cover-is that so bad? (I’m sure I’m not the only one). The black and white Australian covers are still nice and they do look nice on my shelf but I do want specific American covers (SIL, Because of Low and Breathe).

The first thing I have to say is CAGE. He is that guy, the one you read about and are just like YES GIVE HIM TO ME NOW. Cage is beautiful and caring and oh so vulnerable.  He was able to gain a full scholarship to play baseball, and to follow his dream. However this means he has to stay away from Eva for periods at a time due to unforeseen circumstances. This pushes Cage to the limit since the only real place he wants to be is with Eva. I saw quite a bit of character growth from Cage, though not so much that he loses that sinful mouth of his.  He seemed to really be making an effort with being the man he thinks Eva deserves.  The situation, which hurts our lovely couple, I believed, was not entirely his fault, even if he does blame himself (and others seem to blame him too). One of the reasons why this wasn’t a 5 star read for me was that everyone seemed to forget what hell Cage himself had been through and ultimately took the side of Eva. I felt as though the problems and trust issues he had from his mother was overshadowed by the abandonment issues Eva had due to the loss she has suffered, which I saw as unfair.

Another point that made SIL a 4 star read was Eva. Don’t get me wrong I still love this girl, however I just didn’t really see any growth from her-with her characterisation. I did feel that in the end she did own up to her part of the trouble caused by the issue (I won’t spoil). I did like, however, that in the beginning I did see promise that Eva had slightly changed her ways. All together I still think Eva is an amazing character that has gone through more than her fair share of heartache and loss in her short lifetime. On a little side note, I also loved that her relationship with Jeremy was still strong for the fact that I often see characters that have shared the same loss as the main character often are left behind but this wasn’t the case in SIL.

The tender moments between the couple are absolutely beautiful and Abbi Glines had ensured that we get the all the hot feelings from her writing. The story that flowed through these pages is ultimately, (from how I took it) about trust. Trusting your partner does not come easily for characters with backgrounds such as Cage and Eva, both have had to deal with betrayal or loss from those they love which had changed they way they trust others. As the story progressed I never felt that it dragged on or was slow, I was anxious to keep reading. I actually finished this book in a whole day without getting up (even though I was meant to be studying-oops!).

From every Sea Breeze novel I read I always love seeing our gang of friends coming together. It was fantastic to read about Amanda, Preston, Sadie, Jax (Even if he isn’t present in the book), Dwayne, Trisha, Rock (what a teddy bear, when you read SIL you’ll understand what I mean) and especially Marcus and Low. Having them all together just adds a happy element to the story.

Abbi Glines has wowed me again with another stellar book. I absolutely cannot wait to see what comes next from this talented author.
