Blog Tour: Author Interview-Jesica Gibson

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been a while since I posted but Uni life has gotten in the way. But I am back with an exciting new post: my first Author Interview with Jessica Gibson!!

Hi Jessica Gibson, welcome to Keep it Fictional!!

I love listening to music while I read, did you have a favourite song you would blast whilst writing The Harder I Fall?
I do too!! Music is such a huge part of the creative process for me! Breathe Me by Sia was the song I pretty much listened to on repeat. It’s such a sad and powerful song and it spoke so much about Becca and her life.

I love Sia, i'll definitely look up this song!

Where is your favourite place to write?
Either in my office, or at my kitchen table when I want to feel more social and a part of what’s going on.

Your book clearly includes some heavy themes, how did you get through writing the scenes dealing with them? Keep a box of chocolate nearby, endless supply of tissues?
Oh, I cried a lot while writing. I think for me seeing Becca go through everything and her growth as a character helped a lot.

That's understandable! I would think it's hard to write a character whose gone through so much and not get emotional

Are you reader? If so, what are you currently reading?
I totally am a reader! Right now I am reading Fighting for Love by L.P. Dover. I’m loving it!

Haven't heard of this one but I'll definitely go check it out!

All authors need some time to themselves, what do you do in your spare time?
Read, or go to the gym. I used to hate the gym, but now I sort of see it as my only real time alone since there is no childcare there. I look forward to it.

I still hate going to the gym, but I'm glad it works for you! I'll just stick to my books ;)

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
Hmmm, I think I would be somewhere on a beach with just my husband and a fruity cocktail with an umbrella in it.

Then you should definitely come visit me in Australia, Jessica!

Can you share anything about what you are writing now?
I’m currently writing the next book in the series titled The Deeper We Get. It’s Becca’s brother Chad’s story. Be prepared, this one may be a bit darker than Becca’s story. Chad has a lot to work through. I already am loving it and I’m only 4 chapters in!

This sounds very interesting, can't wait to see how it turns out :)

Thank you so much for being on my blog today, Jessica!
Thank you so much for having on your blog!!

Becca Langer was not a normal girl, she didn't have normal girl problems. For most of her life, she’s had to take care of herself, her younger brother Chad, and her drunk mother. She’s lived under the shadow of what her father did when she was ten years old. Forever branded by his actions.
College was her escape, she could get away and finally live. Her dream was to make it in the New York Ballet Company one day. That for her meant a long road full of hard work and dedication. She didn't have time for distractions, and Levi Klein was definitely a distraction. Will Levi be able to crack through her tough exterior and really see the wounded soul underneath? Becca needs to be loved, but the question is, will she let Levi love her?

Jessica and Matt live in Southern California and have a serious addiction to reality tv shows like Pawn Stars and American Restoration. They have one son and hope to add to the family in the near future. Aside from writing, she runs an online event planning business called the Release Day Diva.
